DPI Spatial Dissemination Database ready for user comments
NTLIS has completed the initial assimilation of the DPI Spatial Dissemination Database.. SDB1. Users are encouraged to inspect the layer and column (attibute) names and provide comment back.
As part of the Spatial Data Accessibility project being performed by NTLIS, we have inserted the more commonly used spatial datasets on our test dissemination database SDB1. This list is available here.
These layers will be subjected to the dataset accessibility checklist, where one of the first steps is to declare a 'point of truth' for a dataset with well doumented attribute names and values. The documentation of the attributes in this page will commence soon.. at this stage we are looking for comments / problems with the names themselves. Comments can be emailed to GIS Support or you can create yourself an account on the forum and make comments against this news article.
Feel free to connect your GIS program to the layers in the SDB1TEST schema (call GIS support if you need help here), or simply comment on the list provided in the page above. We expect to move these layers to the SDB1PROD schema in a week or two if there are no problems.
