Attaching rasters from the imagery catalogue
Details how to attach raster files from the imagery catalogue to Microstation V8i.
to effectively attach raster files to your dgn using the following isntructions, you should have your machine configured for consistent access to the imagery catalogue on gefusion, the steps for this can be found here: Enabling consistent access to the gefusion server.
If you cannot access the above link, contact NTLIS and request them to setup access to the imagery server for you. You CAN gain access to the imagery catalogue by setting it up as a network drive on your operating system, and Microstation will see this when searching for folders in the raster manager. However, it has been shown that the image catalogue network connection does not refresh itself completely when users login each day, and this causes an error in Microstation when attaching rasters, and microstation will hang indefinitely.
To attach a raster from the imagery catalogue to your dgn.
1. Ensure you have consistent access to the imagery catalogue (see above).
2. Open the raster manager through File>raster manager, or by the raster manager tool (pictured).3. If you are using a checkout projectwise dgn, you will be prompted to locate the raster from the projectwise folders, click 'cancel' and the raster manager will switch to your normal 'Attach Raster Reference' dialog.
4. Click the 'Look in' drop down menu, and select 'My Network Places', this will present the imagery_catalog folder, and you can select which raster you wish to attach.
5. Proceed with the usual proceedure for attaching rasters from here.
