Old Pine Creek Butchery
Permanent Declaration
Place
The Old Pine Creek Butchery is one of the few remaining buildings in Pine Creek, which were constructed, it is believed, in the first decade of the twentieth century prior to the handover of the Northern Territory to the Commonwealth. It is constructed of timber and corrugated galvanised iron, a style which was once common in the Pine Creek District.
The shop cum residence is an example of early 20th century life in Pine Creek and the region as a whole. There is an underground cellar in the main construction which is a rare feature in Northern Territory construction and is evidence of the owners belief of the permanence of the settlement at Pine Creek and belief in the development and growth of the Northern Territory.

The killing floor and two forked tree-trunks which were used to hang the carcases remain as evidence of the site's purpose and integrity.
