From the geology and hydrology information the hydrogeology units was delineated.0The Groundwater units boundaries and Springs were derived from geology maps, topographic maps, aerial photographs and stereoscope interpretation and satellite imagery interpretation. The hydrology information from standing water level measurements flows from springs, chemical analyses of groundwater samples and surveys of outcrops of recharge beds. Processing steps: Groundwater units: The Groundwater units boundaries were captured using Microstation V7 software package. The polygons from Microstation design format was converted to ESRI Shapefile and ESRI Geodatabase. The MapInfo Table dataset was then created from the shape file using FME Universal Translator. The core attributes information associated with the groundwater dataset was derived from the original map's legend and annotations. File name MATARANKA_SPRINGS.dgn.
