Description

Abstract:

This is a polygon spatial dataset displaying weed management regions within the Northern Territory. The regions provide administrative boundaries for weed operation teams, with Weed Management Branch staff located within each region. Regional weeds strategies have been developed for each region to allow a regional approach for Northern Territory Government and key stakeholders to reduce the adverse impact of the weeds in the Northern Territory over a 5-year period. The current strategies for Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice Springs regions are or the period 2021-2026.

Data Quality

Lineage: Each polygon was drawn using a GIS (ArcGIS Pro) and each region was constructed using segments from Geodata Coast 100k 2004 (Geoscience Australia), Australian Surface Water Management Areas (ASWMA) 2000 (Geoscience Australia). Northern Territory Cadastre (as at 08/08/2022), and connection lines between gaps (e.g. road corridors, buffer and coastline) as required to ensure a single bounding region polygon.

Positional Accuracy: NA

Attribute Accuracy: Attribute information is correct at the time of publishing but is subject to change with amendments to statutory plans or declaration status.

Logical Consistency: Polygon extents for each weed area are merged into a single dataset and polygons will overlap. Each polygon has a label with descriptive attributes.

Completeness: Attribute information is correct at the time of publishing. The areas are subject to change by statutory instrument. This metadata record and the associated spatial data will reflect any changes.
