The identification of priority areas is informed by genetic diversity within the entire population, modelled landscape connectivity, potential for conservation (considering land tenure, zoning and mining titles) and other biological values at candidate sites. The aim of the conservation strategy is to protect and retain viable subpopulations within each management unit. The Greater Weddell study area encompasses the T. praetermissum management units of Weddell, Berry Springs, and Blackmore, and overlaps parts of the Noonamah and Acacia Hills units. Five priority areas for T. praetermissum conservation are demarcated within the Greater Weddell study area, which were selected for the following reasons: - Priority area 1 has a relatively large number of additional values (threatened species and SSV) - Priority area 2 is an area of high modelled connectivity - Priority area 3 is an area of high modelled connectivity, and with no granted mining tenements and land tenure favourable to conservation - Priority area 4 is an existing gazetted conservation area - Priority area 5 is an area of high modelled connectivity.
