FIS contains current water, sewer and power network assets for the Northern , Katherine, Tennant and Southern regions. All the data is captured in Microstation DGN format with an oracle database and is a dynamic dataset that is undergoing continual change. This dataset is maintained by key regional GIS staff. This FIS dataset supplies the sewer layer for the Uview system which is used to distribute the data to PWC staff. This data set is generally available to Northern Territory Government and external clients. Charges may apply for both digital and hard copy. All manholes, sewerage pumpstations and fixtures are placed as nodes. Polylines and nodes are connected creating an intelligent network. Quality of this data is good and is updated where field data has shown this data to be incorrect. This is a continual process which over time will improve the attribute accuracy. Some of the older records required conversion from imperial to metric and datum transformations. Required fields have an accuracy of 95%. The only exception to this is the upstream and downstream invert levels which are closer to 90%. 0FIS sewer data was captured from historical and current "as constructed" drawings. Where "as constructed" drawings where not available information was captured from design drawings and existing compilation plans. All sewer mains are placed in accordance to the standard parcel boundary offset as outlined in the PWC service allocation standard drawings unless otherwise stated. This data was captured electronically over a 2 year period from 1990-92 and is available to all PowerWater employees using the Uview system. All data input after the initial data capture project is captured using "as constructed" drawings or from field verified information.
