Natural Resource (NR) Maps is a free public web mapping tool to discover, research and map natural and cultural research data for the Northern Territory.
Users may display, select and query data layers predominantly related to environment, vegetation, land and water resource information.
The majority of layers displayed in NR Maps have a metadata record that includes details about: the custodian and contact, data quality, data dictionary, data access.

Data Quality
Lineage:The original application, NRETAS Maps, was first displayed in 2006. The application and display was updated in 2011 and renamed NR Maps.
The system is managed by this department. The platform WEAVE is used for data display via the Australian company Cogha. See WEAVE user guide: cohgawiki.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/WUG/overview?homepageId=3248559
Spatial datasets displayed in NR Maps are sourced from a range of Northern Territory Government agencies. The metadata record will note the custodian.
Predominantly, the spatial data from this department is created in an ESRI file geodatabase format and copied to an Oracle database.
