Data was collected from imagery and ground-truthed by observers from helicopter and in-situ sample grabs. Approximately 42,000 hectares of coastal areas between eastern Van Diemen Gulf in the Northern Territory and Horn Island in North Queensland were mapped using helicopter survey techniques during later November 2004.
