Data Quality

Lineage:This dataset was produced from the merging of multiple polygons within the Australian Hydrological Geospatial Fabric (GeoFabric) v3.2 AHGFContractedCatchment geodatabase. The Geofabric is a digital database of surface and groundwater features derived from ANUDEM (v5.3.0) that registers spatial relationships between hydrological features and is produced by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
Commonwealth of Australia (Bureau of Meteorology) 2020

Positional Accuracy:The AHGFContractedCatchments are derived from the 1 second (~30m) catchments that participate in a relationship of common areal extent, based upon the location of a Contracted Node from both the Geofabric Surface Cartography and Geofabric Surface Network products.

Attribute Accuracy:The attribute information conforms to a standard SREBA Surface Water Catchments template. The template ensures consistent information is recorded and displayed on any platform.

Logical Consistency:Data of similar type have the same attribute structure. GIS editing tools were used to check for topology rules. Known topology issues have been identified and will be address in future updates.
