This roads datasets is derived from the NT DCCB Road Centrelines dataset (ANZLIC ID: 3866C09A840CE266E040CD9B21445F61) managed by the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics (DIPL) and modified for NTGS business purposes. This version is provided and distributed for public consumption through NTGS's STRIKE. The dataset is not available for download

Lineage:Urban - Digitised from the best available mapping, usually 1:2,500.
Rural - Digitised survey plans controlled via model adjustment program.
Pastoral - Digitised from the best available mapping, usually 1:500,000. GPS and other control has been used for maintenance where it is supplied.
Positional Accuracy:Urban - +/- 3 to 4 m
Rural - +/- 3 to 4 m
Pastoral - +/- 1000 m
Attribute Accuracy: Few attributes are held with this data. Quality of this is good as due to its age most problems have been found and resolved.
Logical Consistency:Roads - Geometry has been cleaned and concatenated based on the road name and road type and category attributes
Railway - Geometry has been cleaned and concatenated based on section name, status and subclass attributes
Completeness:New roads will be added to the DIPL layer as they come to our attention, as will new alignments to existing ones. These changes will be automatically scripted and reflected in the NTGS dataset.
