Description
Mapping the Future projects assess natural resource potential in strategic locations across the Northern Territory. From 2018 to 2022 the program will survey and map land capability, water availability and biodiversity assets. The project will support land planning, reduce investment decision risk and encourage the private sector to do business in the Territory.
- Index project areas: This polygon spatial dataset is a compilation of the boundary extents for each of the project areas for the NT Mapping the Future project.
- Existing surveys in project areas: displays the extents of other biophysical surveys that intersect the project areas. Surveys include assessment for Biodiversity, Land and Soil, Groundwater, and Vegetation mapping.

Attribute Accuracy:A series of attributes are described in the Data Dictionary in this metadata record.
The attribute naming format uses 10 characters with no spaces to be suitable for an ESRI shape-file format. An alias attribute name is applied to an ESRI file geo-database format.
Logical Consistency:Several project boundary areas will overlap. Some project areas may have multi-part polygons (ie several polygons for a single record).
Completeness:Data will continue to be added to this compilation as projects are completed.
