Environment protection licenced sites have been approved by the Northern Territory Environment Protection Authority in accordance with the Waste Management and Pollution Control Act. The site locations are indicative only and represent the designated parcel as noted in the attributes. Current, proposed and historical locations are stored in the dataset.

Data Quality
Lineage:Site locations were provided by the licence applicant. As part of the application process, the location has been verified by NTEPA staff using desktop imagery software such as Google Earth or NT Aerial Photography.
The data has been compiled to an ESRI file geodatabase format for storage in department Oracle database using geographic coordinate system with datum GDA94.
Positional Accuracy:Each licensed site is displayed using the parcel from the Northern Territory Cadastral database. Each of the parcels is defined by the LAISKEY, a unique parcel identifier . Several licensed sites may have more than one LAISKEY.
Attribute Accuracy:Each site is described using the attributes noted in the Data Dictionary in this Metadata record. Cadastre information (attribute LAISKEY) relates to time of submission of planning applications.
