Abstract:

This dataset spatially represents a register of audits and notices including Site Audit Statements, Audit Reports and Pollution Abatement Notices. Legislation relating to Environmental Audits and Pollution Abatement Notices is included in Section 47 and Section 77 respectively of the Waste Management and Pollution Control Act 1998.

Approximate locations have been provided as point locations. The site locations and approximate areas are indicative only. Links to the related documents have been provided which include more information relating to the location, spatial extent and outcomes of investigations and remediation works.

Data Quality

Lineage:Site locations of Audit Reports and Audit Statements have been provided by the Site Auditor within the Report/Statement. Site locations of Pollution Abatement Notices have been identified by NTEPA staff using desktop spatial software such as Google Earth and NR Maps combined with NT Aerial Photography and Google Earth imagery.

The data is stored within an department Oracle database using geographic coordinate system with datum GDA94. The data is regularly updated by NTEPA staff.

Positional Accuracy:Each site is represented by a point location at the approximate centre of the Audited/Pollution Abatement Notice area.

Attribute Accuracy:Each site is described using the attributes noted in the Data Dictionary in this Metadata record.
