G.G. McLachlan named this feature after P. H. M. Foelsche who was in charge of the first detachment of policemen sent to Palmerston (Darwin) in 1869 and therefore can be considered the founder of the NT Police Force. After coming to the Territory he remained for the rest of his life. |
