| History/Origin |
It is not certain at this stage after whom this river feature is named. However from the explorations effected by Favenc and Nat Buchanan in 1878, Playford River is most likely to have been named after Thomas Playford, Member for East Torrens in the Eighth Parliament in 1875 and subsequently until 1895. |
