| History/Origin | PP King on 19 April 1818 named Point Smith after Henry 'Smith Esq of Birmingham of which is a ledge of rocks which break at one mile distance from the shore." In 1705 Maarten van Delft named this Point "Wajershoek" - Wajer Point after Capt. Roosenboom's ship the "Wajer". PP King later named this point Smith Point as above. |
