History/Origin Lees Court named after Trooper Charles Weston Lees (1847 ? 1880), born in January 1847 in Dublin, Ireland; joined the South Australian Police on 16 January 1874 and transferred to the Northern Territory in February 1874. He resigned on 20 April 1876 whilst stationed at Adelaide River to go to England but returned to Australia and rejoined in the Territory in 1879. He was stationed at Pine Creek. Trooper Lees (aged 33) was described as "an excellent man well up in duties". He died of fever in November 1880 and is buried in the Goyder Road Cemetery Darwin.
