History/Origin	The name Taminmin is derived from the word 'Daminmin', which holds significance in the Dreamtime stories of the Limilngan (Limingun) and Wulna language groups. In these traditions, Daminmin translates to 'turtle place' and is associated with a sacred site near Humpty Doo Station. This location is believed to be the resting place of the 'Travelling Women', ancestral creators. The school, originally established as Taminmin High School in 1983, was renamed Taminmin College in April 2010 to better reflect its expanded educational offerings.
