| History/Origin |
Named after Ivan Wiese who worked with Kurt Johannson for a few years and later worked with Ryan and Buntine Overland Transport. Ivan started transporting freight and fuel supplies to stations and settlements as well as tourist resorts west of Alice Springs. He named his company Northern Transport, which he operated until he sold to Tony Richards, NT Fuels in 1982, 35 years after first coming to the Northern Territory to work for Len Tuit. |
