History/Origin |
After the Byrne family, Elizabeth Anne Byrne, Harold James Byrne, Leo John Byrne, Montie Byrne who was killed in the first World War and in particular William Joseph Byrne who took up a small block (Byrneside) Burnside near Brocks Creek when the railway was under construction, and started a local butchering business. In partnership with Kilfoyle, he leased the Daly River Mission block after its abandonment in 1890 and later in 1927 took up the nucleus of Tipperary Station. His sons continued pastoral activities up to and through the war period. |
