| History/Origin |
Named after Ernest Allchurch who first went to Alice Springs Telegraph Station in September 1902 marrying Elizabeth Williams at the Hermannsburg Mission in March 1905. He left Alice Springs in 1910 but returned in 1923 as Postmaster in charge of Telegraph Station, which position he held until his death in 1932. He was a Justice of the Peace and a sub-protector of Aboriginies. |
