History/Origin Named after Captain Joseph Bradshaw JP and his brother Fred of Bradshaws Run. Joseph Bradshaw was manager of an English company. He took up Hodgson Downs on the Roper Wollogorang in the Gulf and the Arafura in the North, at the mouth of the Goyder River, Arnhem Land. Fred Bradshaw was massacred by Aborigines and his grave is on top of a hill known as Bradshaws Tomb. Joe Bradshaw spent his later years on his station, Bradshaws Run. He died in 1916 and is buried in the old Palmerston Cemetery, Darwin.
