History/Origin |
Named after Doris Barden, a nursing sister who came to Darwin in 1958, marrying the chemist Roy Barden. Her three children, Douglas, Susanne and Arthur, are all champion water skiers. The Barden family developed the water skiing complex "Lakes Resort" adjacent to Lake Deane. Doris Barden died in 1990. |
