Named after Frank Valentine Herring, the son of Gertrude Townsend (formerly Herring of 95 Barkly Street, Carlton, Victoria and the late C H Herring. He enlisted for WWI from the Territory and was killed in action in France. Known as F Gracie, he was buried vide Memorial Register No. 26 Villers Bretonneaux, France. |
