History/Origin |
Named after John Lawson Hill who was born in Liverpool England. He was foreman on the train to Pine Creek and was engaged to Polly Hart of Lewin Springs. On his way back to the Territory, Hill died in Brisbane on 25 September 1918 from wounds received in France. |
