Named after Vernon Clifford Lanyon. He worked as a clerk in Walter Bell's Shipping Agency before he enlisted at the age of 21. He held the rank of Lance Corporal. He died of wounds at Gallipoli on 19th September, 1915. His name is commemorated on the 1914-1918 War Memorial. |
