History/Origin Named after Charles Frederick Yeadon, a mechanical engineer, who enlisted in 1915 when he was 26 years old. He held the rank of 2nd Lieutenant with the 22nd Battalion. He was killed in France on 5th August, 1916. His father was caretaker at the Botanical Gardens.
