History/Origin William Henry Zigenbine was a drover and stockman, who with his wife and large family was well known throughout the Northern Territory. In later years he settled in Tennant Creek. He died there in 1954.

In 1982, Zigenbine Court was named but the development did not proceed, so in 1998 the name was revoked. A new development was proposed in 2010 so the name Zigenbine Court was once again considered and approved for use.
