History/Origin | In 1916, Theodore Ernest (T.E.) Day (1866-1943), Chief Surveyor of the Northern Territory, surveyed and reportedly named the Dulcie Range after his second eldest daughter Edith Dulcie Coates (née Day, 1897-1984). The Dulcie Range historically supported a sizeable population of Akarre Arrernte people as it offered many reliable waterholes and springs, shelter, plant and animal resources.
