History/Origin This Hundred was named after Wentworth Cavenagh whose name appears on Darwin's widest original street (99 feet wide). Cavenagh was the Mayor of Adelaide in 1874. He was in the Strangways Ministry as a Minister and later became Premier of South Australia.
