History/Origin This Hundred, within the County of Palmerston, lies south of Darwin in the Batchelor area and is named after George Woodroffe Goyder, who was responsible for the major survey of the Town of Palmerston (Darwin) and the freehold lands to the south of the town in 1869. It contains the later discovered uranium deposit in 1954, which led to the founding of the Town of Batchelor. The Hundred of Goyder was one of the first 13 Hundreds gazetted in 1871
