| History/Origin | Nightcliff High School opened on 8 July 1970, initially housing students relocated from Darwin High School. After Cyclone Tracy, it served as an evacuation centre and worker hostel. Students were temporarily sent to Casuarina High School until Nightcliff High School reopened in 1975. In 2008, the school transitioned to a middle school for Years 7 to 9 and was renamed Nightcliff Middle School. The school transitioned back to a high school in 2026, and the name Nightcliff High School was reinstated. The school is located in Rapid Creek between Nightcliff Road, Aralia Street, and Ryland Road. |
