History/Origin | Named after Private Eric Guider who was born in Sydney, New South Wales on 29 June 1917. He enlisted at South Melbourne on 20 August 1940 and served in 2/4 Pioneer Battalion at 17 1/2 Mile Camp in Darwin, in March 1942. 17 1/2 Mile Camp is a declared Heritage Place alongside the Johnston development. |
