| History/Origin | Named after John Keith Miles, who moved to Darwin in 1973 with his wife and two children (third child later born in Darwin). He was instrumental in the construction of educational and other infrastructure across the Territory. He was committed to providing affordable building and accommodation to the Territories Indigenous communities. In the late 1980's he acquired land opposite what is now Harvey Norman and opened Aussie Palms, a palm nursery. He died from cancer in 1990 at the age of 44. |
