| History/Origin |
Named after George Cloppenburg, who was granted lease over Section 5, an area of 320 acres of land, at what is now known as Wagait Beach. He cleared, fenced and farmed the land, subsequently purchasing it in 1884 and was known for being a pioneer of the property. |
