History/Origin Named after Gilbert (Bert) Roland Cramer who was a pastoralist in the Alice Springs area and who did various jobs over the years, including contract work with the Northern Territory Reserves Board. He installed fencing and designed and constructed a pumping station at the Telegraph Station. He also installed water supplies at Stanley Chasm and Simpson's Gap.
