History/Origin |
Named after the Budgen family and in particular Private William Ernest Budgen who was a fitter and turner in the Railways Workshops at Darwin before enlisting at the age of 20. He was killed in action in France on 11 April 1917. The Budgen family was a well known during early 1900s in Darwin where his mother has a hotel in Cavenagh St. |
