| History/Origin |
Named after Charles George Chapman (13/01/1913 - 17/04/1917) a Surveyor with the NT Lands & Survey Department 1913 to 1914. He was registered in SA in January 1913 and carried out surveys of sections at Daly River during the initial agricultural development of that area. He also effected a traverse from Daly River to Brocks Creek in 1914 during the time of Ryland as Director of Lands. He enlisted from Darwin during WWI and died on active service on 17 April 1916. |
