History/Origin Anzac Hill, Alice Springs was named due to the obelisk constructed on its summit by Rev Harry Griffiths and unveiled by the RSL President, Doug Adamson, on ANZAC Day 1934. The Alice Springs ANZAC day memorial services are held on the summit each year.

The Arrernte names for Anzac Hill are "Atnelkentyarliweke" and "Untyeyetwelye".
