History/Origin Named by Francis Cadell in October 1867 but not recorded in his narrative SAPP24 of 1868/9. The Bay was probably named after George Villiers, the 3rd Duke of Buckingham and Chandos 1823-1889, a close friend of Benjamin Disraeli.
