History/Origin The Meteorite craters are known as Henbury Meteorite Craters as they are within the Henbury Pastoral Station.

In 1964 Reserve 1133 was gazetted as Henbury Meteorites National Park. (CG 64 of 23 July 1964)

In 1978 the craters and surrounding area was declared a Conservation Reserve and the reserve was renamed from Henbury Meteorites National Park to Henbury Meteorite Conservation Park (NTG 38 of 21 Sept. 1979).
