| History/Origin | Lands Dept files have no origin mentioned. Folio 72 of file S76/1015 (Nomenclature Check) states name origin as being obtained in field, with Pine Valley originating from A Plan of Proposed Reserves in Western MacDonnell Ranges (57/175). It is believed that the name originates from the native pines in the area. The aboriginal name for the area is belived to be Quiennba (CLC, 1981) or Quiurnpa (per Spencer and Gillen "The Arunta", 1927) |
