History/Origin This County, to the east of the Adelaide River, lapsed with the passage in 1976 and assent of the Crown Lands Ordinance 1976 (No 1 of 1977) and the Crown Lands (Validation of Proclamations) Ordinance 1976 (No.2 of 1977).

The County was named in 1865 after Benjamin Disraeli (1804 ? 1881) was born in London on 21 December 1844, the son of Isaac Disraeli and trained as a solicitor. He entered politics in the UK in 1837 as the Member for Maidstone. He was appointed Chancellor of the Exchequer in 1852 and in 1858. Lord Palmerston became Prime Minister in 1855 and Disraeli returned to Cabinet in 1866. He and his Conservative Party won the election in 1874 and he became Prime Minister until 1880.

Queen Victoria gave him the title of Earl Beaconsfield in 1876. One of the Hundreds in the County of Disraeli was named the Hundred of Beaconsfield after his Earldom of 1876.
