Dr James Stokes Millner replaced Dr Robert Peel as Goyder's Medical Officer in September 1869. He remained on as Government Resident until Captain Broomfield Douglas arrived in 1870. He stayed on during Palmerston's (Darwin) first six years and then resigned. He perished, along with his family, on the ill-fated "Gothenburg" in February 1875. |
