History/Origin	Palm Valley on Palm Creek is not the "Glen of Palms" named by Ernest Giles when he traversed up along the Finke River on 2 September, 1872. The palm species predominant in area is 'Livistona mariae',. The Palm Valley is located within the Finke Gorge National Park.
