| History/Origin | The Bynoe locality derives its name from Bynoe Harbour which it abuts. Bynoe Harbour was named in 1839 by Capt J C Wickham after Benjamin Bynoe, Surgeon on the HMS Beagle during Wickham & Stokes? maritime survey of the area. Part of the area was known by the subdivision name "Milne Inlet". |
