| History/Origin | The locality of Mount Bundey derives its name from the hill named Mount Bundey which in turn originated from the "Hundred of Bundey" which was gazetted in 1884 - South Australian Govt Gazette of 07/8/1884, for the area on the east side of the Adelaide River. The Hundred of Bundey is believed to have been named after William Henry Bundey (1838-1909) who was first elected to the South Australian House of Assembly in 1871 and served in various positions in Blyth's government from July 1874 to May 1875. |
