History/Origin Named after Mark James Grosvenor, (1969 - 2008) pilot, speedway driver and businessman.

Mark, although born in SA, came to live in Darwin, where his father taught at Darwin High School, at 3 weeks of age. The family moved to Adelaide in 1972 and returned to Darwin in 1984.

Although Mark completed an electrical apprenticeship, his love was flying and he gained his fixed wing licence and later a helicopter licence.

In 1996, Mark bought his own helicopter and started Albatross Helicopters which at the time of his death consisted of 13 aircraft, the largest Territory based helicopter fleet carrying out charter and tourism work, mineral exploration, aerial burning & fire fighting, mustering and crocodile egg collecting.

In early 2008, Mark in partnership with Campbell Brown purchased the Territory's first air-tractor direct from the US, to service the NT's agricultural spraying and aerial fire fighting needs.

The air-tractor flew just one job before they were both killed.
