History/Origin	Named after Catherine Kate McCaw, Frederick McCaw and William McCaw who were involved in the development of the Northern Territory pastoral industry. Kate was instrumental in the formation of a number of the Northern Territory's pastoral properties, including Urapunga, Maryfield, Mainrou, Roper Valley and Hodgson Downs. William and Charles were early Territory prospectors, explorers, cattlemen and drovers.
